Ramat Gan Safari:

The Safari was fun, but most of the animals were sleeping. We learned an hour after we left that a hippo escaped at six PM. Which was funny to read about. If you don't have a car, you can still go here! They offer a bus that will drive through, but it will cost a little extra. When you get there you'll load up on the bus and go through the safari of zebra's, rhino's, hippo's and more. Then you'll be dropped off at a place that's pretty much the zoo. You go through that and then you wait for the bus to come again, which will take you through the lion's gate and then drop you off at the front of the entrance again. You will see a ton of chickens and roosters. Not sure why, but they were everywhere. I accidentally walked by one and it felt trapped, so it flipped out and started screaming while running away. I felt bad, but we couldn't help but laugh since it was so funny. My husband gave a monkey a random stick off the ground twice and we got to record that. It was funny because the monkey would pull and then show his teeth. I wouldn't recommend eating at the "restaurant" that is there. It's a bit spendy and I swear they microwaved our food. Your choices were pretty limited. They had burgers, schnitzel and hot dogs. The paper plate our food came on had holes in it under the schnitzel and fries. Which was obvious it was probably microwaved because we've bought cheap paper plates before from our grocery store (commissary) on base and when we microwaved it, holes would show up in the plate. The penguins were cute. There was one that came to the window to say hi. There was a guy cutting down some trees in the turtles cage and I was about to yell at the guy because there were two turtles out of like seven turned upside down. The guy finally turned them over and their eyes were all wet like they were crying. I wasn't too happy. There were two cages for the meerkat's. One was full of at least ten of them running around. The other had two, but it was super sad to see. They both were crawling around because their leg wasn't properly working. I'm not sure if it was a disability or if they got hurt, but they were out of food and water. They looked so sad. They'd come up to the window as if they were asking for help, or maybe just wanted attention since no one seemed to come by to see them. I hope the safari takes better care of them. Hopefully it doesn't look that sad every time. I've never seen this before, but they had a desert cat. Not sure what it was actually called, but it was super cute. Overall, I think I would visit again, but next time we go we're going to visit the Biblical Zoo we didn't get a chance to see.
